  • Are there any tips to make installation of my axles easier?

Yes. Most GForce axles come fully assembled and require no assembly or dissassembly to install.

    • DO NOT remove the stub shafts from the axles to install.

    • DO NOT re-torque or check the torque specs on the axle bolts. Simply ensure that paint marks on the cv bolts are lined up indicating that the CV bolts are torqued to spec.

  • What maintenance is required for my axles?

A visual inspection of your axles is recommended at most regular service intervals. GForce axles are shipped fully assembled. All CV bolts, boots and clamps are "permanently" installed and do not require maintenance.

CV bolts in particular use a specific Loctite during assembly. Re-torquing or checking the torque spec on these axles can result in breaking the Loctite seal and introducing the risk of CV bolt movement. Each CV bolt has a paint mark indicating it has been torqued to spec. As part of the visual inspection, make sure your paint markes are lined up indicating the bolts are still torques to spec. If they are not, see the next section for torque specification on CV Bolts.

  • Are your driveline components compatible with all vehicles?

Almost all GForce product are applications specific. Meaning, a particular product is designed to be a direct fit to a certain application or vehicle.

  • How do I know what gear ratio I need for my GForce 9" Kit?
    add

Gear Ratio selection is one of the most common questions we get when customers are looking to make an order for a 9" Kit. Selecting a rear end gear can be an overwhelming task as there is many factors to consider. Things like, tire height, transmission gears, engine RPM and power adders are all factors that must be sonsidered when choosing a rear end ring and pinion gear ratio.

Fortunately, there are several good online calcultors out there that can help make this decision easier. Here is a link to an online calculator from the Dana Corporation. This calculator is designed to show you engine RPM at a given MPH using tire height and ring and pinion gear ratio. You can manipulate these factors to get the desired results.

  • Should I use Poly Bushings or Solid Bushings with my 9" Kt?
    add

This is a common question and depends on several factors. In some cases, GForce only offers a 9" Kit with a certain bushing type. When you call in to place your order or inquire about an order for a 9" Kit, one of our qualified technicians will walk you through those options.

If the option for either polyeurathane or solid aluminum bushings exists, here are some factors to consider.

How much power is your vehicle making?

If it is extreme and the risk fo breaking parts or hardware exists, solid bushings should be considered. Solid bushings "lock out" the mounting points reducing the risk of movement and or failure.

How do you drive the car and what is the intent?

Poly bushings usually provide a more pleasant driving experience. So if your intent is to street drive the vehicle and you want the most comfortable driving experience, poly bushings would be the most logical choice.

If the car is primarily for racing or track use, solid aluminum bushings will provide you with the most secure and protected option. Although solid bushings have the opportunity to tran
